UFC Grappling Dummy Review

UFC Grappling Dummy ReviewWe include the UFC grappling dummy review here since it is called a grappling dummy.  However, it is NOT a submission grappling dummy. which is the focus of these reviews.  Most grapplers already understand this, but if you are buying a grappling dummy as a gift for the grappler in your life, this might be helpful.

As a tool for striking and training movement on the ground, or for lifting and slamming, it is an excellent tool that serves its purpose well. If we were reviewing this product as a “ground and pound” bag, it would get a high rating.

However, by our definition of “grappling dummies” as relating to BJJ or MMA style submission fighing, this product is not a submission grappling dummy at all, since you cannot train even a single submission on it. Possibly even the word “dummy” doesn’t really apply, since it doesn’t replicate a human form.

If you are already a grappler, you (hopefully) already realize this isn’t for training submission grappling, and you know whether this suits your needs or not.

Again, if you’re shopping for a gift for the BJJ or MMA grappler in your family, make sure you find out which type of dummy he or she wants before you buy!

Regardless of the low rating as a grappling dummy, if you are seeking a “ground and pound” style bag, the UFC Grappling Dummy is a durable, quality product.

The video below will show you how similar type (NOT the UFC dummy) “ground and pound bags” are used. Notice that the user is performing “ground and pound” and “transitioning” style training which this product is actually designed for, rather than submission grappling training.

OUR FINAL CONCLUSION

As a ground & pound and throwing dummy, it is highly recommended. However, it is simply not a submission grappling dummy. If your buying a gift for a BJJ or MMA submission-style grappler, this is not what you want.
